Los Angeles Rams Poised for NFC Takeover: A Top Super Bowl Contender in 2025?

The NFC is experiencing a bit of a turnover based on what we’re seeing during this current offseason period.

San Francisco is clearly shedding salary — letting a host of high-profile players walk in free agency as the franchise retools with younger, cheaper talent. Dallas looks to be stuck in the proverbial mud without a lifeline in sight. Green Bay operates like Green Bay does — making moves on the fringes without spending a ton of money.

Detroit has been relatively quiet thus far, and Philadelphia has seen a host of contributors from the Super Bowl winning squad walk in free agency. Washington has made splashy moves in acquiring Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel. Having said that, there’s no guarantee Jayden Daniels will avoid the dreaded ‘sophomore slump’ many young players endure.

One team primed to be a strong contender in the NFC is the Los Angeles Rams.

The team spent the last couple of years stockpiling draft picks and young talent for this exact moment. After hitting on numerous guys last year (including Jared Verse), the team went out this offseason and acquired Davante Adams and Poona Ford. Adams will now complement Puka Nacua as arguably the most lethal one-two WR punch outside of the one in Cincinnati.

Ford should help in shoring up the interior of the defensive line. The Rams run defense was a bit shaky last year, and adding a veteran of Ford’s caliber was a major upgrade.

LA is run as well as practically any franchise in the NFL today. A big reason for that is the head coaching prowess of Sean McVay. Innovative and highly intelligent, one can make an argument he’s the best HC in the game right now.

Everything is setting up for the Rams to be a true Super Bowl contender in 2025. With SF and Seattle expected to be in a bit of a rebuild mode, and Arizona a ways off from real contention, the Rams should lock up the division with relative ease.

Remember, LA played Philadelphia as tough as anyone in the postseason before the Eagles eventually went on to win the Super Bowl. That loss surely is still sticking in McVay’s craw, and as such, the team is highly motivated to improve via free agency and the draft.
