There’s no shortage of storylines ahead of this event — as virtually every major figure within the company will battle it out. Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and John Cena will participate, and it’s expected that The Rock will be present to hear ‘the answer’ from Cody Rhodes.
We’ll break down each match with analysis and predictions.
Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus vs. Nia Jax and Candice LeRae
This should be a straightforward match. Stratus returns to wrestle at home in Toronto in front of friends and family. Stratton in many ways is the new age evolved version of Stratus — offering the same sex appeal and charisma with an enhanced bag of moves. The rivalry/past history between Stratton and Jax will surely be played up.
LeRae is one of the more underrated wrestlers in the women’s division. She’ll put on a clean performance and will have no qualms about putting other talent over. Ultimately, with Stratton’s momentum and Stratus’ appearance, we can’t see those two losing the match.
Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens (unsanctioned match)
The two Canadian wrestlers are longtime friends. The recent storyline involving Owens creeping around Zayn’s home in the wake of a perceived slight in the Rhodes match is true cinema. With this being an unsanctioned match, we’d expect both wrestlers to get some real color. Owens is on a heater right now as a heel. Zayn is very over — and that’s why I could see Owens winning this match. He just lost the ladder match at Rhodes at the Royal Rumble. They won’t want to bury him too much considering Zayn’s preexisting personality. Or…will they — further drive Owens to madness? Either way, we’ll be watching.
Women’s Elimination Chamber: Roxanne Perez vs. Bayley vs. Liv Morgan vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Naomi vs. Bianca Belair
If anything, this should be a slobber knocker of a match (as good ‘ol JR would say).
Perez is now a member of the RAW roster and has more than held her own. She looks like a future star in the company. Naomi and Belair are coming off dropping the tag team belts to Raquel Rodriguez and Morgan this past Monday. It probably prevents Morgan from winning this match, and we can’t realistically see Naomi taking it.
Bayley is the sturdy veteran who’s been a true worker for a decade. You know you’ll get a great performance from here. However, the winner of this match should come down to Bliss or Belair. Bliss had a long layoff before recently reemerging. Belair is now title-less — which could open up the chance for her to win this match. However, if she doesn’t, expect some feud with Jade Cargill to heat up immediately.
Men’s Elimination Chamber: John Cena vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins vs. Damian Priest vs. CM Punk vs. Logan Paul
The winner of this match will square off against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania in Las Vegas. Priest is probably out of the mix here. McIntyre might be buried again in order to manufacture a feud with someone else (perhaps Rollins again?). Punk and Paul have gotten into it with one another based on this week’s RAW where Paul greeted Punk with an open-handed slap.
