Travis Kelce looks set to return for the 2025-26 NFL season, according to Chiefs GM Brett Veach.

The tight end was reportedly considering his future following the Chiefs Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9th. Kelce decided to play his cards close to his chest in the weeks since, only revealing that he was unsure if he would return next season.

On his podcast with brother Jason, he said he is “kicking every can that I can down the road” in regard to the decision

Now, it appears the decision has been made. According to Ian Rapoport on the X platform, Veach took time at the NFL Combine to speak about Kelce, saying he is ‘fired up’ about entering the new season:

How we left it at the end of the season is that [Kelce] was fired up, he has one more year under contract. Still think he has that fire and desire to play, and as far as I’m concerned there is no deadline. I think we left it as he’d be back and we’re excited to get him back and get him going.

This comes as significant news for the Red Kingdom, who were unsure if they would retain their ten-time Pro Bowler for the next season. Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes will get his favorite target back for at least one more season, as the Chiefs look set for their “revenge tour” in their quest for a fifth franchise Super Bowl title.

Also at the Combine, Chiefs HC Andy Reid took the time to answer a question about Kelce’s future, saying “I have talked [to Kelce]. At this point, just get out of town and relax. That’s my motto to these guys. They’ve played a lot of games over a consistent amount of seasons. So you’ve exhausted yourself mentally and physically. Take a step back, then we’ll talk.”

Of course, there has been no official announcement as of yet. The organization and Kelce himself have yet to make any statement on the matter, but the signs are certainly looking positive for the Chiefs faithful.
