Liverpool — Milos Kerkez (AFC Bournemouth)

It’s no secret by now that Liverpool is going to need a major squad refresh this summer. One of the most glaring weaknesses is at left-back. With Andrew Robertson aging and a shell of his former self, and backup left-back Kostas Tsimikas not consistent enough to win titles, this will likely be a major focus of recruitment for the Reds. Milos Kerkez is one player heavily rumored to be signed by them, and he is almost perfect in their high-intensity setup. He is extremely similar to Robertson of yesteryear. In the 2024-25 Premier League season, he’s averaged 1.8 tackles, 1.2 interceptions, and 2.5 clearances per game. Offensively, his 1.5 key passes and 0.8 successful dribbles per match would fit into Arne Slot’s setup like a glove.

Arsenal — Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting CP)

Arsenal’s attack lacks a clinical No. 9. Kai Havertz’s seven goals are decent, but his 7.8 xG suggests inefficiency for a title contender. To make matters worse, his injury history makes him an even more unreliable striker. Gyökeres, 26, has scored 20 goals in 18 Portuguese league games this season along with 4 assists. He has the pace, physicality, and finishing suit that Mikel Arteta’s would love in his system. His price tag is rumored to be in the region of £80m, so he would be a major statement signing similar to the likes of Erling Haaland.

Manchester United — Jonathan David (Lille)

Manchester United needs firepower…and badly. Strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee don’t score enough goals, and creative midfielder Bruno Fernandes is left to do all the offensive heavy lifting himself. Canadian striker Jonathan David could be that clinical target-man they so desperately need. He has scored 14 goals in 26 games for Lille this season, and his 7.8 progressive carries per 90 can add the extra spark of dynamism that United lacks under Ruben Amorim’s system.

Chelsea — Alexander Isak (Newcastle United)

Alexander Isak is a name that will undoubtedly be on the move this summer, as the Swedish striker has been linked to all sorts of clubs. Chelsea’s 2024-25 season under Enzo Maresca has shown promise fighting for a top-four position, but their attack remains inconsistent. Nicolas Jackson’s 6 goals and 5 missed big chances highlight a big need for a clinical finisher to elevate their side further. Isak could be the perfect signing to address this gap and transform Chelsea’s frontline in the summer of 2025. Him dropping deep to collect the ball while overlapping runs from the likes of Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto could form an extremely dangerous attack for next season.

Manchester City — Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)

City’s dip in form in the 2024/25 season is due to a lot of factors, one of them being the decline of star player Kevin de Bruyne. The aging Belgian midfielder is confirmed to be leaving the club at the end of the 2024/25 season, and they will likely need a midfielder to fill his void. 21-year-old Wirtz is a generational talent with the vision that could do well to replace de Bruyne. Whether or not he can replicate the pinpoint crosses that de Bruyne fired in on a weekly basis remains to be seen, but the potential partnership that Wirtz could form with Omar Marmoush and Erling Haaland would be incredible for City.

Tottenham Hotspur — Eberiche Eze (Crystal Palace)

Spurs don’t have a consistent playmaker beyond James Maddison. Eze, still only 26, will bring that element of flair and pace that can get the best out of their frontline. Eze is a proven Premier League player, recording 8 assists so far this season, and could likely do with a change of scenery after being at Selhurt Park for 5 years. Ange Postecoglou’s setup is predicated on attacking midfielders who thrive on controlling in tight space during transition. Getting a player with this profile could do wonders in helping the likes of Heung-Min Son and Dominic Solanke. Eze also offers positional versatility, playing as an 8, 10, or out wide.
