Davante Adams Joins the Rams: What It Means for LA’s Offense

Davante Adams has a new home.

The multi-time Pro Bowl receiver has inked a 2-year with the Los Angeles Rams. The deal is worth $46 million with $26 million fully guaranteed.

Adams has had a bit of a tumultuous time after leaving Green Bay. With the Las Vegas Raiders, the team could never get over the hump as even a playoff contender. Adams suffered from minor injuries and inconsistent QB play. Despite this, he still put up two-straight years with at least 1,000 yards receiving (and 22 total TDs) from 2022-24.

This past year, Adams engineered a trade from the Raiders to the New York Jets in order to team up with good friend Aaron Rodgers. The Jets were an unmitigated disaster — and despite Adams accruing another 1,000+ yard season, he and Rodgers were released recently.

This move is fascinating more so for the Rams compared to Adams. It makes all the sense in the world for the 32-year-old receiver, as he gets to return to his native California and play for a Super Bowl contender.

As for the Rams, they clearly deem Adams as being a superior player to Cooper Kupp despite both being relatively the same age. With Adams now being one of Matthew Stafford’s expected top targets, it’s very likely Kupp will be released sooner than later if a trade can’t be worked out.
