Christmas day is full of family, gifts, good food, and — most recently — high-level sporting events.
This year, the holiday will provide fans with a slate of NBA and NFL games.
A clean breakdown of all the games, along with their times, can be found below to maximize your holiday as best as possible:
NBA Games
- San Antonio Spurs at New York Knicks (12:00 pm ET)
- Minnesota Timberwolves at Dallas Mavericks (2:30 pm ET)
- Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics (5:00 pm ET)
- Los Angeles Lakers at Golden State Warriors (8:00 pm ET)
- Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns (10:30 pm ET)
Victor Wembanyama will get a taste of The Big Apple when his San Antonio Spurs square off versus the New York Knicks in the Garden. With all eyes on Wemby, we’ll surely expect to see something special from the prodigious French forward.
Minnesota playing in Dallas gives us a look at two of the games’ best superstars Luka Doncic and Anthony Edwards. The Eastern Conference clash between the Celtics and the 76ers may be a snoozer with Philly’s plethora of injuries. This could be the ‘nap time’ period of your day as you get ready for evening activities.
The Lakers versus the Warriors will be a fun opportunity to see Steph Curry and LeBron James go toe-to-toe. It could be the last Christmas Day matchup between the two with James rumored to be retiring soon. Lastly, your NBA day ends with two Western Conference foes. Any day featuring Nikola Jokic playing basketball is a good one.
NFL Games
- Kansas City Chiefs at Pittsburgh Steelers (1:00 pm ET)
- Baltimore Ravens at Houston Texans (4:30 pm ET)
Kansas City is looking to lock up the top seed in the AFC. Pittsburgh’s stingy defense, coupled with potentially bad weather, may make this game entertaining — though it could also end up a very low-scoring affair. At the very least, you’ll see Patrick Mahomes slinging the football around the yard.
The second game will also have playoff implications. Houston and Baltimore have had periods of scuffling this season. We’ll see if both explosive offenses can get on track. A Lamar Jackson-CJ Stroud matchup could be tastier than the honeybaked ham you plan on visiting for dinner that evening.
