In the wake of signing Josh Allen to a mega-extension, the Buffalo Bills are gearing up further for a Super Bowl run.

Elite pass rusher Joey Bosa agreed to a 1-year deal with the Bills on Tuesday. Reports indicate the contract will be worth $12.6 million.

Bosa had spent the entirety of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers leading up to this point. Dating back to 2016, the 29-year-old has notched 72.0 career sacks. Injuries have been somewhat of an issue for the 5-time Pro Bowler. Bosa hasn’t accrued double-digit sacks in a season since 2022. Furthermore, he’s played in only 28 of a possible 51 games in the last three seasons.

Having said that, this seems like a very good deal for both parties. Bosa can reset his value with a strong year — especially since teams are always on the hunt for pass rushers.

As for Buffalo, this is a low-risk/high-reward deal. If Bosa pans out, he could very well help Buffalo get over the hump as a real Super Bowl contender. If he’s disappointing/becomes injured, the Bills can wash their hands of the deal knowing it’s a short-team commitment.

Bosa should immediately slot in as the Bills’ best edge rusher. Greg Rousseau led Buffalo in sacks last year (8.0). AJ Epenesa and Von Miller (6.0 sacks each) also contributed.
