Browns RB D’Onta Foreman Sent to Hospital Following Scary Hit to Head

Scary news coming out of Virginia Thursday morning.

According to a statement from the Cleveland Browns, running back D’Onta Foreman left practice in an ambulance after he “sustained a direct blow to the head that resulted in neck pain.”

Foreman, 28, was injured toward the end of a punt period. The veteran was placed on a backboard and carted off the field and put into an ambulance. The organization also reported that Foreman was transported by helicopter to a medical center in nearby Roanoke, Virginia — the Browns said Foreman has movement in all extremities.

As the Browns approach their first preseason game, the team has spent the past week practicing at The Greenbrier resort in West Virginia. After a strong career at Texas, Foreman was drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans.

Foreman spent two seasons with the Texans before joining the Tennessee Titans for two years. In 2022, Foreman started nine games for the Carolina Panthers and rushed for a career-high 914 yards and five touchdowns. Last season, Foreman played for the Chicago Bears and rushed for 425 yards and four scores.
