LSU WR Kyren Lacy Facing Charges in Fatal Crash Incident

LSU star receiver Kyren Lacy is reportedly in some hot water with the authorities in Louisiana.

According to ESPN, Louisiana State Police have issued a warrant for Lacy’s arrest. Allegations include Lacy causing a fatal crash due to reckless driving. The report also alleges that Lacy did not stop his vehicle after the accident, and also did not call authorities before allegedly driving off. The accident is said to have occurred on Dec. 17.

Louisiana State Police has indicated that Lacy will be charged with reckless operation of a vehicle, negligent homicide, and felony hit-and-run. A 78-year-old man named Herman Hall died in the incident. Hall was a former Marine having served in Vietnam. In addition, two other unnamed people were reportedly also injured in the incident.

According to the reports, Lacy allegedly tried to bypass other cars by driving in a no-passing zone. Two cars on opposite sides of the highway allegedly swerved in opposite directions to avoid Lacy’s car. This is when both collided head-on with one another.

Lacy had a somewhat underwhelming final year in Baton Rouge. Expected to be the next great receiver from the school, he hauled in 58 grabs for 866 yards and nine touchdowns. Various NFL Draft pundits had Lacy as a potential Day 2 draft choice.

It’s too early to determine how this may or may not impact his draft stock — though odds are Lacy likely will float down toward the UDFA (undrafted free agent) grouping.

According to the report, authorities have been in touch with Lacy and his legal team.
