WWE Rewind: Jey Uso Losing IC Belt on RAW Sets Up a Highly-Anticipated Bloodline Civil War Angle

We all saw this coming. Over the last few weeks, steam had been building between the ‘new Bloodline’ (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tanga Loa, Tama Tonga) and those who made up the original group (Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso). Solo — the self-appointed new ‘tribal chief’ of the Bloodline offshoot — has been aiming to reunite the entire family, only under the condition that Roman Reigns acknowledges he’s no longer the head of the clan. Reigns and Jimmy Uso haven’t come to grips with this request, and as such have been attacked repeatedly.

Seeking his brother’s help, Jimmy hoped his brother Jey would rejoin Roman and himself to combat this new tribe. Jey thus far has rebuffed those attempts. However, after what transpired on Monday evening in Philadelphia, we could soon see the ultimate Civil War.

In the main event on RAW, Jey was defending his newly-won Intercontinental Title versus the up-and-coming monster Bron Breakker. As one recalls, Jey won the belt from Breakker originally, giving him the first singles title of his illustrious career.

Mid-way through the match, we happen to see Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa appear out of nowhere near the announcer’s table. In unintentionally hilarious and cartoonish form, Sikoa pulls two tickets out of his suit jacket pocket telling everyone in attendance that they’re just there to be a spectator. As the match continued, we then saw Tanga Loa and Tama Tanga outside the ring near one of the ring posts behind the barrier. Unsure of their intentions, Jey unleashed two superkicks rendering them useless.

By that point, Solo jumps over the barricade questioning Jey for his actions. He repeatedly kept telling Jey that he was “there to help him win” despite distracting him during the match. At that point, out of nowhere, a charging Breakker comes around the corner ready to unleash one of his patented spears. Solo interestingly enough pushed Jey out of the way and took the spear. As Solo lay on the ground, Jacob Fatu hopped over the barrier and stood nose-to-nose with Breakker. The crowd offered an immensely loud pop when this occurred. These are two of the best and youngest talents in the sport, and this little Easter egg surely will be revisited down the line. We can only hope these two square off one day for some gold.

Eventually, Fatu unleashes a super kick of his own on Jey before executing a perfect Samoan drop onto the announcer’s table. Breakker, taking full advantage, then gets Jey into the ring, and finishes him off with a spear to reclaim the belt.

What does all of this mean? The brief interaction between Breakker and Fatu will break the proverbial brain of the WWE Universe once explored. Secondly, it sets up the motivation for Jey to rejoin his brother and Roman against this new Bloodline. With Survivor SeriesL WarGames 2024 at the end of November, there’s still plenty of story to flesh out ahead of a probable Civil War featuring these two factions. One can assume The Rock will join the new Bloodline quartet. It’s anyone’s guess as to who would join the Uso brothers and Roman Reigns. Maybe Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes? Or, other biological members of the family that have yet to be introduced to WWE programming?

Regardless, that match has the potential to be truly outstanding.
