WWE Announces SummerSlam In 2026 Will Be Expanding to 2 Nights

“The Biggest Party of the Summer” is about to be even bigger. Thursday morning, WWE announced that the 2026 edition of SummerSlam will be a two-night event. SummerSlam is arguably WWE’s second-biggest annual event behind WrestleMania.

Beginning in 2020, WWE turned WrestleMania — its premier event — into a two-night spectacle. In April, WrestleMania 40 was held at Lincoln Field in Philadelphia and saw over 145,000 fans attend the show. In 2026, SummerSlam will be held over two nights for the first time ever. The city of Minneapolis, which was long rumored to be in contention to host WrestleMania 41, will welcome WWE to town. U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings, will be the venue.

“U.S. Bank Stadium is an absolutely world-class venue, situated in a city with rich wrestling history and an amazing fan base,” Chris Legentil, WWE executive vice president, talent relations and head of communications, said in a statement. “We’re excited to bring two nights of SummerSlam to Minneapolis in 2026.”

“We are thrilled to welcome the WWE Universe to Minnesota for SummerSlam,” said Wendy Blackshaw, president and CEO of Minnesota Sports and Events. “We will make this summertime wrestling extravaganza accessible for fans of all ages. Through a variety of festivities and ancillary events in the Twin Cities and affordable tickets to the main events at U.S. Bank Stadium, this will be a SummerSlam for all.”

SummerSlam will represent the first premium live event (PLE) to be held in Minnesota since 2019’s TLC (Tables, Ladders & Chairs).
