Monday night’s episode of RAW certainly added a bit of spice to the Bloodline storyline.
Jimmy made his way to RAW, entering the ring with his estranged brother Jey. Begging for the two to reunite and join Roman Reigns against this new offshoot, Jey agreed — only under the condition that they represent themselves rather than being a side piece in this faction. Jey also vowed to show up to SmackDown this week to approach Roman Reigns directly.
All of this was expected. WWE then announced that the trio of Jimmy, Jey, and Roman would square off at Crown Jewel this weekend versus the new faction of Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tanga Loa, and Tama Tonga. From a number standpoint, it would appear as if this would be a 4-3 advantage in favor of Solo’s group.
Potentially looking to add a fourth member to even the odds, Jey was seen talking backstage with an old friend and honorary ‘uce’ Sami Zayn. Interestingly enough, Sami was questioning Jey’s potential involvement with brother Jimmy, saying he and Roman were the reason for Jey’s falling out with the family. In a strange turn of events, he even defended Solo saying he had nothing to do with this. He pleaded with Jey to stay out on his own away from all of this. Jey, getting frustrated, said Sami doesn’t understand this because “he’s not family.”
Hoping to make things right with Sami and potentially smooth things over further with brother Jey, Jimmy entered the fray and went to find an upset Sami. When doing so, Jimmy happens to see Sami at a distance talking to none other than Solo in the parking lot. Jey then joined as the two were dumbfounded as to what they had witnessed.
Over the last 18 months, Sami has been ‘over’ as anyone in the business. The fans absolutely love him as an underdog physical fighter from Montreal. In this case, turning Zayn heel would allow him to further his depth as a performer. With the fight at Crown Jewel looking like a 4-3 situation, we could see Sami join to even up the numbers before eventually turning on his former uce family. Either way, this small wrinkle made what seemed like a somewhat drab upcoming PLE far more interesting.
