The world of professional wrestling is arguably as hot right now as it’s been in years.
There’s tons of talent flowing through a host of promotions. When trying to identify the biggest potential stars, there are a handful that stick out quite prominently.
Stephanie Vaquer
Unsurprisingly, she’s already getting a major push — most recently winning the NXT North American title. She gets the slight edge on Giulia right now based on her ability to more effectively cut a promo in English (though Giulia surely will get better as she acclimates further to the United States). Vaquer is a technically gifted wrestler, has a great look, and will appeal to the large Spanish-speaking fan section of the WWE Universe. Plus, as Booker T has been not-so-subtle about via NXT commentating duties, Vaquer has one of the most unique moves in the sport (you have to see it to understand the appeal).
Bron Breakker
Breakker is the future of professional wrestling. He embodies the bodybuilding nostalgic look of wrestling from the 80s and 90s. Yet, he’s got a more natural/less manufactured personality which connects to the current generation. Couple that with his family pedigree in the sport, and you’ve got a gold mine on your hands.
The physicality with which Breakker wrestles is elite. He powers off the ropes as fast as anyone the sport has seen, and his spear makes Edge’s attempt look juvenile in comparison. We haven’t even scratched the surface as to how good he can be on the mic. We’ll all eagerly awaiting his next feud — and the hope is that he can continue to cut his proverbial teeth before competing for the biggest title in the sport.
Jacob Fatu
With respects to Roman Reigns, Jey Uso, and The Rock, Fatu is easily the most entertaining Polynesian wrestler in the business at this point. Men his size aren’t meant to fly off the rope doing flips and contorting their bodies the way he does. Fatu is not only a gifted in-ring performer, but his mic skills are organic and believable. Fans truly think he’s going to snap at any moment. The gold teeth and disheveled-looking dreadlocks only add to his aura. This guy needs to be booked against someone with some gravitas ASAP.
Oba Femi
The 26-year-old ex-NCAA track athlete is a stud. He has a great look — hearkening back to wrestlers of yesteryear that are physically intimidating. As the current NXT Championship, Femi has flexed his muscles, literally and physically, in several ways. His mic skill continue to improve, and the sheer strength he boasts is quite impressive. Not overly massive like some of the bigger guys on the main roster, though still plenty captivating nonetheless, it won’t be a shock to see Femi up on RAW or SmackDown sooner than later.
Tiffany Stratton
Stratton is already a star. That’s not a question. Having said that, we think she could become one of the biggest female wrestlers in the history of the sport.
The former gymnast is very athletic in the ring. Her technical ability continues to sharpen, and she’s as over as any female wrestler not named Rhea Ripley at the moment. The next step for her is to square off versus one of the iconic female wrestlers in a feud. Charlotte Flair could be a good contender. We’d also like to see Stratton against Becky Lynch (once she returns). “Tiffy Time” has arrived — and she’s not going anywhere.
