MLB’s domestic Opening Day will begin on Thursday.

Technically, the baseball season already began with two regular season games being played in Tokyo between the Dodgers the Cubs. However, the traditional kicking-off of the year will commence on Thursday.

A host of matchups are intriguing. Having said that, if you’re a fan of high-level pitching, you may want to tune into the game in Los Angeles. The reigning World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers will unleash one of its prized offseason signings in pitcher Blake Snell.

On the other side of the field will be the upstart Detroit Tigers with an ace of their own in Tarik Skubal.

One can make the argument that Snell and Skubal are the two-best left-handed starters in the game today. Unequivocally, they’re also among the elite starting pitchers regardless of being a lefty or a righty.

Skubal was the best pitcher in baseball last year. It’s unsurprising that he won the AL Cy Young Award after going 18-4 with a 2.39 ERA. Snell isn’t too shabby in his own right. He’s a two-time Cy Young Award winner, and the personal accolades he’s enjoyed result in a guy who’s been an ERA leader on several occasions.

Snellzilla vs. Skubal will be must-see TV — and if anything it’ll give you an excuse to tune in and watch the likes of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman swing the bat.

What else can you ask for on the opening day of the baseball season?
