Soon, you will be able to play ball with iconic characters like Pablo Sanachez, Maria Luna, and the rest of the quirky gang on the go.

The beloved Backyard Baseball 1997 video game is set to release on iOS and Android devices on March 27th, according to the official Backyard Sports Twitter account.

Publisher Playground Productions also confirmed the game is also coming to consoles, but a concrete release date has yet to be revealed, with only a one-word update to go by: “soon.” Interestingly, the mobile game will also be released without in-game advertisements and microtransactions — a rarity in the mobile gaming world.

In a Twitter post, @_BackyardSports posted an image in a stylized font akin to Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late mixtape cover, saying: If You’re Reading This Backyard Sports Is Coming To Mobile — along with a “3.27.25” attached in the post.

Just in time for the new MLB season, it will give fans a cartoon-y and lighter baseball game as opposed to the recently released baseball simulator MLB: The Show 25.

First released in 1997, Backyard Baseball became a childhood staple in American homes, and eventually saw spin-offs into other sports such as Backyard Football, Backyard Hockey, Backyard Soccer, and many more.

With the last game released in 2015, the series had been dormant up until late last year, when it was announced the series had changed hands and would be revived under new publisher Playground Productions.
