AC Milan Looks to Extend Christian Pulisic’s Stay Until 2028

United States Men’s National Team captain and AC Milan star Christian Pulisic is reportedly considering a contract extension at the San Siro.

According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto (and retweeted by Fabrizio Romano on the X platform), AC Milan is reportedly offering Pulisic a three-year extension to 2028, with an option to extend for another year. While specific finances have yet to be disclosed, the deal is rumored to give Pulisic around 4 to 5 million Euros annually, making him among the highest-paid players in the squad.

The American has been in hot form for the Rossoneri this season, scoring the most goals for the club in all competitions (8) and creating a lethal attack alongside winger Rafael Leao. The club is currently 8th in Serie A after an inconsistent start to the season, although they have started to build momentum and have only lost once in their last 10 games in all competitions, most recently drawing 0-0 to Genoa in the Serie A.

AC Milan has also been impressive in the new-look UEFA Champions League this season, sitting 12th in the table and on track to advance to the knockout rounds. They recorded a famous 3-1 win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu where Pulisic got an assist, as well as scoring against leaders Liverpool.

The club has struggled to retain its high-profile players in recent years as they often leave the club as a free agent when their contracts expire. Star players such as Gianluigi Donnarumma, Olivier Giroud, and Hakan Calhanagou have departed the club after their contract expiration. New AC Milan sporting director Zlatan Ibrahimovic has prioritized keeping these star players tied down to longer-term contracts to avoid further key departures.

Thanks to this initiative, the club is also reportedly working hard to finalize contract extensions for starting goalkeeper Mike Maignan and outfielder Tijjani Reijnders as the club continues to position itself for success in the coming years.
